In 1998 Mary Help of Christians received the active support and over $2,000 financial assistance from the Florida State Department of Transportation to landscape the south border of the church adjacent to the off-ramp of the Sawgrass Expressway. The creative use of matching funds and the active involvement of parishioners and the City of Parkland were instrumental in obtaining this award.
In January 1999, Mary Help of Christians was awarded third place in the Broward County competition for Broward Beautification. The parish was only one of three churches in the countywide competition and the only catholic one. Churches have much to do in the area of environmental awareness.
In November 2013, the Gore Family Memorial Foundation Trust awarded a $250,000 match grant award to be administered under the control of the Broward Community Foundation . The endowment is for the independent study of science by students of the school.
